Duane’s passion for woodworking and design began at a an early age, always the one to use his hands to build and create things. Some of his fondest memories are of taking toys apart and building something new with them. Upon completing high school he trained as a apprentice in several millwork shops both specializing in commercial and residential design and went on to earn his Red Seal Certificate in Joinery. Completing this training equipped Duane with the necessary tools and education to understand how to build and construct furniture and millwork, however he quickly realized he was still lacking the design skills he knew would play an important role in furthering his career. He enrolled in the Interior Design program at B.C.I.T. and earned his Diploma in Interior Design. Equipped with the education and training of these two disciplines Duane was now able to combine his love for woodworking and design. Duane started Out Of Line Designs in 2009 as a one man shop specializing in custom made furniture and small millwork pieces. Duane’s reputation for quality and customer service allowed him to grow his small business into the thriving business of today. Duane is a proud husband and father of 3. When he is not running the day to day operations he enjoys spending time with his family. Some of his hobbies include motorcycles, photography and fitness.
